The realities of aging! Because of a skin condition I can no longer buy my makeup at the dollar store or the now defunct 5 and 10 cent stores. Ventured to the overpriced makeup counter yesterday to be confronted by a young beautiful thing with flawless skin (not that I am envious or anything??) who not having my particular shade decided to sell me a shade lighter or darker whichever I prefered as if it did not matter. At that moment I should have proceeded to a similar store down the mall BUT decided on a different shade - mistake - as she looked me straight in the face and offered me a free sample of "anti-gravity" cream!! This encounter did not really make my day but as I walked away I thought "lady your day will come". Still prefer the dollar store where the pleasant sales staff always have a smile and a pleasant personality - what more could you ask for a dollar??

Turned on the TV this morning to see it snowing in Pembroke - it is only the 2nd of October for goodness sake. The station was playing "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" and I cannot get the tune out of my head - how weird is that? Now I have to go out and vote and I am still undecided - perhaps a bolt of wisdom will strike me on the way over. Just noticed the picture of my Emmett waving to Grandma and like a ray of sunshine my day is a whole lot brighter.
