Article in paper this morning re women having their feet altered to fit their shoes - what next? Like who would want to go through painful surgery in order to wear high heels with pointed toes - I thought that style was passe and that the female gender were more sensible in buying footwear that suited the on-the-go woman. Like every other woman I wore those high heels with pointed toes back in the sixties and my feet and indeed my body has never recovered. I was unfortunate to inherit my father's feet among other things - there are just some things you would rather inherit from your mother but no I have the kind of feet that do not fit well in dainty and/or stylish shoes but to have them reshaped by surgery - no thanks!!

"All great masters are chiefly distinguished by the power of adding a second, a third and perhaps a fourth step in a continuous line. Many a man has taken a first step. With every additional step you enhance immensly the value of your first."

Elections, elections - another one down and one more to go!! Hardly much enthusiasm over the municipal run and not surprising that only 32 percent of the people voted. The problem was mainly that there was little or no information available and most were not aware of the background and achievements of the candidates. I received a flyer at the door (the one and only one) from a lady who was running in this area and I voted for her simply becuase she took the time to sent out some information - she did not win but I gave her an A for effort.
Oops George just informed that she did win - yea!!!
I Wonder:
If flying is so safe why do they call the airport "terminal".

Some things I have learned:

- One good turn gets most of the blankets.

- Age is a very high price to pay for maturity.

- Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

- Before telling someone where to go get the directions straight.

The snow today reminded me of this:

Remember the future lies before you like a path of untrodden snow
Take care how you tred upon it for every mark will show.

Halloween was rather quiet this year considering the weather was just about perfect for all the ghosts and goblins to go door to door. Will no doubt gain a few pounds getting rid of the leftovers. The highlight of the evening was when Eddy, a bichon, from down the street came to the door in costume to invite Samantha to go trick or treat - she gets more offers than I do and she is a dog - does that tell you something!!!
