There are days when I think it would be so wonderful if I lived in a world where there were
no computers, cell phones or other technical apparatus to test my patience. My mind
wanders back to the 50's when the air was pure (except for the coal dust) and all we had to
contend with were “off” and “on” switches - we did not expect much and life was simpler,
quieter and slow-paced. I am glad to have had that experience but I think about the lack of
all the conveniences that now make for a better lifestyle like central heating, electrical
appliances and thank goodness for Gortex (what did we do without Gortex!!). Needless to
say the status of women has come a long way since the 50's when we were too often
defenceless victims of sexual, verbal and physical abuse and not welcome in professions that
were defined as a man’s domain. I must remember the next time my computer gives me
problems that technology and social progress do make life a lot easier and definitely more
interesting.

Thought for Today
“This is not the end - it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the
beginning”
----Winston Churchill
(And I think I am strange to not know which end is up!!!)

Thanks to Kevin, Elaine, Em and Maddie for a lovely Thanksgiving feast - it was very enjoyable.
Continuing saga of Samantha's woes - results of tests taken last week indicate she still has one of three bacterial infections and is again on another type of antibiotics as the other two she has tried did not agree with her. Because she is chewing at her leg as she has done on other occasions the vet had her fitted with a cone around her head which unfortunately was much too large for a small dog and lets face it she was just not a very happy camper to say the least!! She could not walk around, eat or drink with this contraption so we took it off and will try to keep her leg covered - lots of fun!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING WISHES TO ALL
Hem your blessings with thankfulness so they don’t unravel.

Samantha has been under the vets care for over a month and we have spent close to $2,000 up to now. We have still not pinpointed the cause of her illness and waiting results of yet another test and another visit to the internal medicine specialist. The cost to us is not as important as getting her back to a healthy state but I do wonder about people who adore their pets but are not in a financial position to pay the high cost of their medical care. Interesting to note that animals are a lot better looked after in regards to medical treatments, etc. than people these days!!
