Had a good chuckle today while shopping - a mother was trying on high heeled boots with her son (about 3 years old and real cute). He was walking around his mom and having a close look at the boots. His mom said "What do you think?" to which he replied: "They look great but you best walk around in them and make sure they fit right". The mother laughed and looking at me she said: That's what I tell him when I buy him new shoes now he is looking after me. Kids are so unpredictable at times!!

Have been quiet for too long - people need to hear my opinions!! About the appt of Ms Jean as the designate GG - first and foremost, another female is not a smart idea as our main objective in life is to spend money (ours and others) - that is "what we do". That aside, no amount of persuasion will convince me that Ms Jean meets the standard on the loyalty issue (Canada and Quebec, come on we are one Country). Those who remember the FLQ crisis just shutter to think about the chaos caused and indeed innocent lives taken and anyone even remotely involved should never be considered for the Governor General's position. In my opinion, for what little it is worth, the GG appointment should most definitely have been offered to a Canadian military veteran - this is indeed the "Year of the Veteran" and what better way to show our appreciation for the loyalty, dedication and bravery of those who placed their lives on the line for Canada. Sad that such distinguished citizens of this country were passed over in favour of a little known Ms. Jean.
