This was just tooo funny!

A very self-important college freshman attending a
recent football game, took it upon himself to explain
to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was
impossible for the older generation to understand his
generation.

"You grew up in a different world, actually an almost
primitive one," the student said, loud enough for many
of those nearby to hear. "The young people of today
grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man
walking on the moon, our spaceships have visited Mars.
We have nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars,
computers with light-speed processing ...and," pausing
to take another drink of beer......

The senior took advantage of the break in the
student's litany and said, "You're right, son. We
didn't have those things when we were young. .so we
invented them. Now, you arrogant little shithead, what
are you doing for the next generation?"

Don't you just love senior citizens!!!

For those who think I might have fallen off the face of the earth or those who wish I may have fallen off the face of the earth, I am still around. Thank goodness the summer is almost over - there is not much good one can say about summer although there are many who will disagree with me. Who needs the unbearable heat, humidity, smog, dangerous storms, bugs, air conditioning and being closed up in the house. Some fresh cool air will be so nice and not having to listen to folks that are either going on a great vacation/summer places or coming back from said places and have a need to expond on their adventures. Something else that irks me in the summer is the spraying of chemicals on lawns and we seem to be in an area that is contaminated for most of the summer as almost everyone on our street feels the need to pollute the environment. Why, I ask - we fertilize our lawns two or three times a season and do not cut it short along with a little water now and again and our lawns are I think in better shape than those that are treated all summer. Yesterday we were having breakfast out on the deck when a rather obnoxious smell appeared sending us indoors and sure enough most of the lawns around us were sprayed with pesticides and it being a warm and muggy day with no wind the smell just lingered so on came the a/c and the windows were closed as we had become ill one time on a similar day when they sprayed. Later on I saw a little toddler walking on the lawns and rolling on the grass that had been sprayed with chemicals, wow, it just makes me so angry. Laws are in place to keep us free of second hand smoke and other toxic substances and rightly so but they still allow companies to spray toxic chemicals on lawns.
