Just a couple of points:
An article about a couple who are angry at the airline because they say they were forced to leave the airplane. Apparently the plane was delayed for 15 minutes at an inconvenience to all aboard while this couple tried to get their child to sit in the seat. They felt they should have been given more time to quiet the child down - really!! Who was in charge the little child or the parents?? I am not a real advocate of harsh disipline but when you look at some of these screaming out of control children some tough discipline would be doing the child and everyone else a great favor.
Another article about doing without a car has stirred some folks up. I am sure there are those who can easily do without the hassle or high cost of owning a car while others especially with a family could not function without a set of wheels - it is all a matter of choice. At one time kids could walk or hop a bus but these days it is just not safe. I can remember doing without a car for several years after being married and having a child - it was really no hardship and we all got lots of fresh air and exercise not to mention contributing to less pollution in the atmosphere.
On that note I shall disgress for now!!!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES" TO ELAINE AND DONALD - MAY ALL YOUR WISHES COME TRUE

Happy New Year. Went out today to obtain a senior's bus pass at St. Laurent station. Man, that place is cold, cannot figure it out but even in the summer it is always freezing in there. There was a lineup of about six people which I figured was not bad as there were two service personnel at the wickets. As soon as I got in line one of the servers left her post but what really gets my gall is the immigrant people who think they should not have to wait in line. This man of East Indian descent walked right up to the wicket and demanded a bus pass and what is more he got it!! Along came another ignorant immigrant young woman who figured since she had a baby carriage it was her privilege to just walk right up ahead of everyone waiting and freezing in line. I see this all the time and wonder why do we let them do it??? Anyway, I finally got up to the wicket and was informed that the camera was being repaired and I would have to wait in another lineup. Finally, the camera was running again and the folks in front of me moved in and out very quickly - things were looking up, NO as soon as I was in front of the camera it froze (no fault of mine either for those who might be thinking along that line). I waited a good 15 minutes for them to reboot the computer and get things moving along once again - you would think with the high prices they charge in fares they would have a better system. After finally thawing out I headed for the drug store where another East Indian woman rammed me with her cart while I was checking out and almost knocked me down. The saga continued when I noticed an elderly lady with a white cane who was trying to get another immigrant woman and young girl to move as she needed to sit down and was not having much success.
