BOOMERITIS!!!!
The oldest of Canada’s almost 10 million baby boomers — people born between 1946 and 1964 — are entering their early 60s with a litany of joint, muscle and bone complaints arising from years of trying to stay active on aging frames. As is typical of the baby boomer generation they need to title everything and have dubbed this generational disintegration "boomeritis". Now I am a "wee" bit beyond this age group and there is my brother Ken who is older than dirt but we realize there is quite a backlog of folks waiting on hip and knee replacements - fortunately because I am much younger than my brother I am not in need of such procedures yet. The fact of the matter is boomers have little tolerance for immobility and pain and as a result there is an explosion in hip and knee replacements which is playing havoc with health care costs. I still think "arthritis" sounds more sophisticated than "boomeritis" so I shall stick with my arthritis complaints.

Be who you are and say what you feel,

because those who matter don't mind

and those who mind don't matter.
