Can't believe the summer is almost over - where did it go? Samantha is finally back to normal if there is such a state for her!! She had been having problems since early spring and all summer we were kept up at nights and stressed out because we did not know what to do to help her. She had been placed on antibiotics twice for a serious bladder infection and meds for a thyroid problem. Finally we took her to a vet internist who kept her all day (at a unreal cost) and did a battery of tests which indicated she did not have a thyroid problem and as soon as we took her off the thyroid meds she was fine. We have spent a small fortune in the past six months and are no further ahead - they want to do more tests but we said "enough already" she has been through enough and we will just wait and see. I think we should at least be part owners of the animal hospital by now.
Pigeons, pigeons and more pigeons!!! Does anyone have a gun???? Our neighbour has been feeding the pigeons for several years and refuses to stop. There are now about 100 of the dirty pigeons that feed at her place and sit above our back yard - there is smelly pigeon poop all over the yard. All the neighbours are fed up and our backdoor neighbours just spend the whole summer at their cottage and never venture out their back yard unless necessary. What can one do with someone who is so stubborn and does not care about the problems she is causing. She has been ordered to stop this action a few times but just waits a few days and goes right on shoveling out the feed???
On a lighter note the weather has been great this summer, a little too hot for me at times but lots of sunshine to enjoy.
