We have only one spoiled bichon - cannot fathom having a room full - Lord Have Mercy!!!!! Samantha would be the one lying down in her favorite position.
Ever wonder why the cost of hydro is so high?? Yesterday a neighbour across the way called hydro to inform them that a branch of a tree was lying on a high voltage line and the scenario follows:
10:00 - call to hydro
2:00 pm - two large hydro trucks fully loaded with buckets, etc arrived along with two smaller trucks - a survey was made of the situation and they left
4:00 pm - same trucks arrived and another survey was done along with an employee who arrived in a car and looked like he might have some intelligence and he paced back and forth talking on the phone. Once again they all left.
5:30 pm - same hydro trucks arrived all lit up like a Xmas tree along with two tree trimming trucks - one large truck all equipped with bucket, etc and pulling a tree shredder and another smaller truck A group of the hydro employees huddled together on the street to have a little consultation (about an hour long) at which time they discussed various plans that were lit by a flashlight. The street was a buzz with heavy equipment and flashing lights not to mention the stream of traffic passing through to have a look and see what the commotion was all about. Heard hydro guys say the power would be turned off but I did not expect that included us so I settled in to watch a good movie - ten minutes and all went black (heard that 50 homes were involved). They turned off all the decorative lights on the trucks and it was pitch black when they took their "one" and only flashlight to the backyard to cut down the branch (took all of about 5 minutes) and the power was turned back on around 10:00 pm. 12 hours to remove a branch of a tree from a wire - somewhat reminesant of Ottawa city workers but I suppose being a Sat and holiday weekend to boot those called out to work were going to make it worthwhile money wise!!!!
