Here I am - off and running again, well not quite!!! Having a back problem that has taken the wind out of my sails. Thought it was a hip problem (arthritis) but found out it was indeed a problem with my lower back and the sciatic nerve. My broken leg and wrist were a walk in the park compared to this problem. Physiotherapy, acupuncture and ultra sound vibrations, etc have not helped the problem and I am now waiting for a MRI which is not so easy in this city - many months waiting time in most hospitals. I am on a list at the Children's Hospital and could be called anytime night or day but usually not before a month!! Other option, private clinic over in Gatineau with service in just a day or two at only a cost of $750.00 (ouch). Think perhaps I should take that money and check into an exclusive spa for a weekend!!! Heard that my brother Ken is having a similar problem - an endowment from our Scottish lineage no doubt???
Just so you would know and take note of:CAPE BRETON NAMED AN 'ISLAND PARADISE'The Cape Breton Post
SYDNEY — one of the world’s leading publishers of English language travel and tourism information has identified Cape Breton as one of seven international island paradises. The feature by Fodor’s notes they are, “instinctively drawn to these places because they provide the perfect antidote to the hectic pace of modern life.” The section on Cape Breton notes the island’s reputation “rests on simple pleasures and genuine old-school hospitality,” and also makes note of its spectacular scenery, pointing to the Cabot Trail in particular. It also makes reference to Canada’s only single-malt whiskey distillery, the Glenora Distillery, the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s, and the Keltic Lodge in Ingonish. Other islands listed include Quilalea Island, Mozambique; Bequia, Grenadines; Cham Island, Vietnam; Fernando de Noronha, Brazil; Isla Vieques, Puerto Rico; and Panama’s Pacific Islands. “It keeps Cape Breton Island top of mind for international travellers,” said Mark Sajatovich, marketing manager with the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. “The designation that it’s one of the paradise locations on earth shouldn’t really surprise Cape Bretoners, but we’re a little bit spoiled.” “I don’t think there is any destination in Canada that has the (same) track record in notoriety in these types of rankings,” he said.
