When he built it (at the children's museum), I asked Elaine to use her new camera phone to take a picture. To get Em in the shot, I asked him to stand outside the "hut" we were in and look in the window...it just so happened that they all lined up.

So Ottawa has elected as self styled technology entrepreneur.
I voted, so I have a right to critize this lame turn of events.
I have met and worked with several entrepreneurs. For the most part, their sucess was due in large part to being at the right place at the right time. Additionally, their success is in large part to taking a big risk despite all market indications otherwise...this is a strategy that can't ever happen in politics. Every one of them has been a notoriously bad manager. I have never met one that has repeated their success, ever. The ones that have are certainly not in municipal politics.
Running a government is nothing like running a corporation. The two are so diametrical opposed despite the fact that Ottawa is formed as a corporation, the similarity ends at the name only.
The cornerstone of his campaign is zero taxes. This may play well in Pioria (or Barrhaven) where people are house poor and can't really afford their share of infrastructure taxes...but its never going to happen, especially with an elected council that is made up of incumbents...who voted for the last tax hike. You can't possibly expect an increase in services without additional taxation...come on folks.
You know where I stand...I'll be the first to say I told you so when it hits the fan.
