New years resolution...get a more grown up desk. I think this is the very first shot taken with the new camera. Yeah...time to invest a little more in the office fit up.

Arty shot. For some reason Firefox butchers the color on this...try something else.

Merry xmas. Here's a holiday classic.

The calm before the storm.

I can count the number of times I've been to Walmart on one hand. For some reason, I decided to stop in yesterday. I went to the new one over at the "railyards". I leave my misgivings about this development to another day. I spent all of 5 minutes in Walmart, and came away profoundly depressed. There is something so consumerist and desperate about the place that really bothers me. It's a bit like taking a vacation in the worst of american expenditure. It simply strikes me as a bunch of crap, made offshore, and a bunch of people blindly buying only to eventually fill our landfills with inert junk. I can't say I'm very motivated to return. I don't know where I'm going with this...but it seems my feeble attempts to reduce my eco footprint (like riding my bike in winter) are in vain given the popularity and culture surrounding things like Walmart.

For some reason, decorating cookies requires halloween costumes. This took place during the Storm of "Oh Seven" (as I will be calling it). Em was quite puzzled that Lainer didn't actually bake the cookies...its cute that he assumes all holiday baking is homemade. Sorry Emmy, this will not be the last of the disappointments you'll face. I think when he finds out that the Lexus is in fact, not a Transformer will be particularly hard.

Thats the new door in the background. It weighs like 1 million pounds. Thankfully Vincent hauled it off to his shop for painting.

Another day, another xmas concert. This time Em's class graced us with a folky dance. He actually had a very nice sweater on, but wanted to show everyone his nice tie. Had I known, I would have added a belt to the ensemble. So be it, 6yr old boys aren't fashion slaves.

Maddy and her posse up on the stage. I was surprised to see her front and center. I'm not sure if its because she's tall or because she's a willing singer. The girl second from the left is Sadie, she's been in the same daycare with Maddy since she started.

A shot of Maddy post xmas concert at the daycare. She was so funny...as we expected she happily belted Frosty the snow man on the stage...giggling the whole way thru. Its amazing to see how well she adapted; she was so shy and quiet at the start of the year and is now the showboat. Granted, she loves singing and we often catch her at full blast on the toilet.

Good lord...the snow! Its nice to have a driveway and all...but the shoveling!. I started at 6:30 this morning and was done around 8:00. A labour of love though given the alternative of parking on the street or at the parking garage.

The new door is here and has a place of honor in the dining room. We can't do much with it until we can get it painted, which is turning out to be a bigger chore than expected.

Well. My honeymoon with Facebook is over and I'm back at this. It was fun while it lasted but it looks like the forces of evil have made their way into what was a good party. I have a new camera, so you should expect a bevy of arty shots here. The above taken from our pimpy new window...cause it was way too cold out to actually take pictures outside. I just got a call that our pimpy new door has been delivered, so stay tuned comrades.
