Passport arrived on Friday...actually Thursday, but I wasn't home. Elapsed time...one week. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Went to get a new passport yesterday. Total elapsed time...1hour. That includes getting photos, filling out the form, waiting in line and finally processing the application. Can't say I have any complaints...went about as smooth as I could expect...well the price is a little outrageous. 90 bucks seems a little steep...but I suppose if you can afford to travel outside of Canada, you can afford the cost of the documentation.
Whats with the people who cannot follow the very clear and bilingual directions on the form. I'm guessing that 1 in 3 of the people at the passport office were missing some very obvious part of the application...
"you need photo's Miss...no we don't do it here",
"you need some form of ID Sir, the fact that you are in this country doesn't mean you are a citizen",
"no we don't issue Passports same day...it takes a while to print Miss."
Good lord, I'm not so sure that I want these folks leaving the country representing Canada.
