The Küler House is a prototype. Meaning, it represents a concept for a possible low footprint, urban house. Ideally, the design of the Kuler house can be adapted to most available urban lots. More importantly it can optimize a more genereously sized lot with several units. We will be unveiling several popular variations on the layout early in the new year. The current prototype represents a 20' wide plan that could be accomodated on many 24' wide lots. The plan can be easily adapted to a 18' to a 24' wide plan.
The look of the house can be customized by prospective owners. Certainly the articulation of the fenestration must vary with the orientation of the building (to optimize passive gains) and to adjust the required levels of privacy with the street. Material decisions will be guided by sustainability and environmental concerns first. Vinyl siding will not be an appropriate finish choice for the Küler House.
